  • Non-drug, non-invasive

  • FDA-cleared technology

  • No medication side effects

  • Covered by most insurance

Using the NeuroStar® system, Three Strand Wellness delivers an advanced and unique form of TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), a non-invasive therapy that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain that are underactive in people suffering from depression.

If you have been diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder), and have not experienced relief from trying 2 or more antidepressant medications, TMS may be right for you. TMS is not a drug, and is not form of shock therapy or surgery. And it has none of the side effects associated with medications.

TMS, offered by Three Strand Wellness, is a simple in-office treatment lasting as little as 19 minutes per daily session over the course of 6 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the Doctor taking new patients at this time?
Although it is difficult to get into many Psychiatric practices, it is wise to call us at (980)938-5001 or click on the "New Patient Portal" button on this website to find out if patient hour opportunities have
become available.

2. Does Neurostar TMS hurt?
While there may be some minor discomfort at the treatment site (where the device touches your head), it generally subsides within the first week of treatment. There is no sedation, or impact on your alertness. You can read, watch TV, or talk with your treatment coordinator during your session, and you can drive home immediately after treatment.

3. Does Neurostar TMS really work?
In a study of "real-world" outcomes (meaning actual Neurostar TMS patients), 83% of people who completed the full treatment cycle experienced a measurable decrease in the severity of their depression, and 62% of those completing treatment saw full remission of their depression.

4. Is TMS the same as ECT?
No. TMS is not related to ECT at all. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses (similar to MRI), to revitalize connection in the area of the brain that regulates your mood.

5. Does Three Strand Wellness take Insurance for TMS treatment?
Yes, Three Strand Wellness takes all major Insurances for Medication Management, Psychotherapy, TMS, and Spravato. Yoga, Meditation, and Massage Therapy are cash or credit card payments.

6. Once I begin Spravato or TMS treatment, do I have to continue to do it?
TMS treatments are 36 consecutive treatments. Spravato begins twice weekly, but progresses to once per month if you are helped by it.

7.Does Dr. Ifill-Taylor become my medication and therapy Psychiatrist when I begin TMS or Spravato?
No. You will continue with your Psychiatrist and therapist. Dr. Ifill-Taylor will be your Psychiatrist for TMS or Spravato treatments.
